Overview Reporting to the Director/VP of Sales & Marketing, the Technical Writer is responsible for writing and editing technical documentation for the organization services and products. This person must have excellent communication and skills and must be able to organize the ideas and be able to translate technical terms into text that reader can understand.
Responsibilities • Create, edit, and maintain technical documentation for i.e., response to RFP/RFQ, presentations, technical reports and other technical documentation as per need basis.
• Create, edit, and maintain procedural documentation including but not limited to department policies and procedures (SOPs) user guides and application guides.
• Research and evaluate new documentation tools and methods; document and improve documentation processes.
• Maintain documentation standards and keep abreast of current information by associating with professional individuals or societies or by reviewing professional publications, newsletters, e-mail, and Web sites.
• Develop documentation project plans and timelines.
• Collaborate with departmental programmers to collect and interpret input from IT or other departmental personnel.
• Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein. The above statements describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this classification. • Work closely with Sales, Software Development Team, Quality Assurance, Project Management and other software teams to document technology solutions for new and existing products and services.
• Work closely with software developers on the team and participate in all phases of product development including: design, development, testing and ongoing support.
• Develop documentation standards and templates for product development teams.
• Prepare training material and coordinate training sessions related to information contained in technical documentation.
• Organize existing documentation; identify gaps and lead efforts to correct them.
Requirements Education:
• Work requires a Graduate preferably an Engineer with good knowledge of Technical Communications, Telecom/Computer Science or related field.

Experience:
• Work requires a minimum of three years writing experience, preferably in a technical field with an emphasis on technical documentation. Prefer that one of the three years of experience be in information systems or information technology.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycles.
• Experience with writing scripts and tools to improve process.
• Advance computer skills especially MS Office, Coral Draw, Acrobat Pro
• Extensive software writing experience of a very technical nature
