·         Assist in development and implementation of the Employee Relations strategy in the Factory, aligned to the business objectives
·         This position is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Factory HR function and administration including administration of the human resources policies, procedures and programs, carrying out responsibilities in departmental development, employee relations, workmen training and development, benefits, compensation, and recruitment
·         Be responsible for implementing HR Policies at the Factory.
·         Be responsible in developing the headcount plan in respect of managers and workers in consonance with the organization structure templates, job classification and bands and in line with the business plans and budgets.
·         Carry out monthly reviews of headcount and proactively plan for recruitments in respect of workers including advance hiring for anticipated contract terminations and attrition.
·         Recruit for vacancies and anticipated vacancies at the Factory ensuring compliance with profile specifications. Coordinate with Business Unit HR for salary approval and appointment letters.
·         Assist the factory functional managers in running the performance management programme in respect of setting KRA’s, mid year and Annual appraisals including dialogue for calibrating relative performance and ratings distribution.
·         Ensure the administration of the attendance system, overtime policy, payroll computation and salary disbursal for workmen at the factory
·         Develop and maintain workers HRIS and use these for non management employee decisions at the Business Unit.
·         Ensure that employees are adequately trained to carry out their work in a safe manner and are also trained to handle emergencies such as fires and accidents.
·         Plan for periodic medical checkups and diagnose accident reports and illness statistics for preventive action.
·         Maintain productive relationship with Labour, Health, Police, and Municipality and provide for public relations support to the factory.
