Minimum Experience: In-depth experience of Procurement, at least 8-10 years, in a multi-country environment. 



Job Description: Responsible for the Purchasing function in a developing market Region. Acts independently according to very broad policy, develops and makes final decisions on regional procurement strategy, administrative/operational matters affecting the whole Region. Decisions can impact profitability of the whole Region. Errors have critical impact on countries/regional Company's success and moderate Global Company's success. Procurement represents 70-75% of the COGS.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the strategic sourcing and purchasing of raw material, packaging materials and finished products necessary for operation of an organization.
  • Accountable for developing and monitoring the procurement budgets for all the countries in the region.
  • Monitors the Purchasing performance for the region.
  • Drives continuous improvement processes and discusses implementation with Regional senior management.
  • Manages foreign currency exposure risk relating to purchased materials and proposes active risk management approach.
  • Compiles information on price trends and state of the art manufacturing processes to drive overall cost improvement processes through global benchmarks.
  • Confers with suppliers and analyzes suppliers operations to determine factors that affect prices and determines lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules.
  • Reviews proposals for most strategic spends, negotiates prices, selects or recommends suppliers, analyzes trends.
  • Works closely with Country Supply Directors to ensure that Business needs are always met by the local procurement teams.
  • Designs and supervises major bid packages.
  • Drives gross margin and net working capital improvements and supports net revenue growth.
  • Identifies & Support X-Trim and Squeeze projects, NPD and EPD initiatives to improve company profitability.
  • Works closely with Global Procurement team and implements commodity plans.
  • Ensures the Global contracts and best practices are professionally implemented.
  • Uses aggressive cost management tools to optimize the benefit from market movements for Company plants and co-packers.
  • Carries out commodity benchmark studies within own and across other Company regions.
  • Optimizes the tax/duty for the production spend.
  • Designs action plans to deliver continuous year on year improvement of payables terms to suppliers.
  • Ensures early involvement and actively support NPD/EPD initiatives to deliver agreed milestone plans to drive business growth.
  • Ensures suppliers deliver agreed to service levels and quality targets.
  • Drives the Non Production Spend budget optimization (except Media buying.)
  • Leads, manages, coaches and develops a team of purchasing professionals across the regions based in different countries.
  • Global Supply Talent Development, with the objective to, through the efficient use of tools (e.g. Manpower planning, Monitor, Succession Planning, Graduate Recruitment and so on) and close cooperation with Regional and Global Supply and HR, ensure that High Potential employees are given the appropriate assignments and roles to optimize their development in Supply (not limited to their own country/cluster/region).
  • Accountable for ensuring all employees are sufficiently trained to complete required work in a safe and competent manner.
  • Develop, in cooperation with the Management Team, a strategic plan to grow continually improve the skills required by the work force to maintain a competitive advantage.
  • Demonstrate the Company Values to establish the desired culture on site(s).
 
Professional Qualifications:
 
  • In-depth experience of Procurement, at least 8-10 years, in a multi-country environment.
  • Degree qualified preferably in Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance, Business or related area. MBA advantageous.
  • Good understanding of financial planning tools.
