PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION / EXPERIENCE
· Bachelors of Commerce/Economics plus a Masters Degree with 5 years exposure at least of Shipping and Clearance (Customs clearance) in an FMCG
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE & JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
· Lead the company's import compliance activities.
· Establish and monitor compliance with the laws and regulations for import activity at domestic and international locations.
· Work closely with management across all functions to strengthen the import and export compliance processes and systems and build a strong culture of import compliance.
· Work closely with import operations department advising on classification, licensing, and other compliance related matters.
· Provide advice and counsel to management on trade requirements for major initiatives and special projects.
· Conduct internal export compliance audits and training at manufacturing plants, logistics centers, and sales offices worldwide.
· Continuously work toward improving and automating the processes and procedures to ensure compliance with import laws and regulations, including transfer of technical data
· Monitor regulatory changes and revise compliance policies and practices in accordance with changing legal framework and business models Job
· Thorough knowledge of Government Regulations / Policies - Sales Tax / Duty Structure / etc
· Liaison with Clearing / Banks - Port and Logistics and Contractors
· Strong business acumen - Street Smart.
