Location: Lahore, Pakistan
Key Responsibilities:
1. Heads the software quality assurance and process engineering groups providing vision, leadership and strategic direction to the functions
2. Leads and drives company wide quality initiatives and organizational processes especially in the domains of software quality assurance, software engineering, IT operations, information security etc.
3. Adopts systems, methodologies, strategies, and technologies that drive quality and constantly strives to establish best practices in software quality assurance, quality management and process engineering
4. Establishes procedures that define quantitative measures of quality and process metrics, enabling benchmarking, trend analysis and objective evaluation of systems, programs and initiatives
5. Establishes systems and processes to systematically analyze product quality, identifying recurring patterns of defects, performing root-cause analysis and providing recommendations for significant improvements
6. Architects the software quality assurance cycle utilizing contemporary approaches to quality, aimed at defect prevention, early detection and proactive quality management
7. Continuously explores, acquires and deploys technology to drive process efficiency across the quality assurance life cycle
8. Constantly works to enhance organizational competencies in specialized areas of quality such as usability, performance testing, automation, security etc. and ensures organization wide implementation of such initiatives
9. Provides coaching and training in software quality assurance, process engineering and quality management, continuously driving competency development and enhancement in the quality discipline
10. Constantly strives to raise the internal benchmarks of quality
11. Leads by example, serving as a champion of quality and excellence, actively instilling commitment to quality throughout the organization
12. Develops reporting channels and mechanisms that provide prompt and insightful information on quality management system to relevant stakeholders, delivering transparency, visibility and objective information to the management
Qualifications and Competencies
Education A degree in Software Engineering, Information Technology or related discipline
Experience 15+ years in software engineering and software quality assurance
Competencies
1. Excellent understanding and hands on skills of software engineering, software quality assurance, test engineering and information security
2. Very strong process management and process engineering skills
3. Excellent knowledge of contemporary approaches to test engineering and quality management
4. Proven record of leading software quality assurance (SQA) group in a competitive environment. Experience in leading and implementing SQA automation initiatives would be considered a plus
5. Experienced in implementing quality standards and frameworks such as CMMI, ISO 9001-2000, ISMS/ISO 27001 etc.
6. Good project management and change management skills
7. Proven leadership and team skills
8. Ability to see the big picture with strong problem solving and analytical skills
9. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
10. Drive for accomplishment in a challenging work context
