Profile Requirements:
- An exceptional equity & debt strategist with outstanding academic qualifications and leadership experience in investments management.
- Demonstrated success of investment strategy over one, and preferably more than one, market cycle.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a team of highly qualified fund managers.
- Strong presentation skills and marketing acumen.
- Leadership skills that combine assertiveness, diplomacy and teamwork
- Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently, and to maintain self-control while under pressure with a passion for investments as an intellectual pursuit.
- Understand critical macro-economic issues for efficient asset allocation and investment strategy decisions.
- Develop and articulate the macro view of the economy, markets and investment strategy, and have the ability to incorporate this perspective into capital market expectations.
- Make recommendations to the investment committee regarding investment policy, asset allocation guidelines, and compliance with investment procedures.
- Implement a highly disciplined approach to the process of analyzing, selecting and monitoring investments in order to ensure consistency with the investment plan.
- Oversee relationships with sell side brokerage houses and other capital market participants.
- Provide support to the business development team who depend on information from the investment platform to service institutional clients.
- Interpretation and application of complex rules and regulations.
- Act as a spokesman for communicating the funds under management objectives, strategies and styles to clients, media and internal staff involved in the sales and marketing efforts.
- Recruit, train and manage a team of investment professionals as needed
- The position reports to the Chief Executive Officer and is based at Karachi, Pakistan
- Developing and recommending strategies to investment committee
- Market intelligence in relation to investments as well as peer group funds and their investments
- Coordinating with Risk and Research functions to ensure reduced risk
- Liquidity management through investment management as well as redemption forecasting
- Oversee all fixed income business for the funds under management
- Align the portfolios to take advantage of market movements (short term vs. medium to long term)
- Decide on investment opportunities to provide maximum return to the portfolio
- Manage day-to-day investments in CFS (COT)
