This is a mid-level position with at least 1 year of QA experience. The ideal candidate will be a critical thinker with a strong Quality Assurance background. The Software QA Engineer is responsible for analyzing requirements and performing functional testing on a web based end user application. Strong SQL skills are necessary to support the data analysis and validation required by this position.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Designs test strategies and writes test plans for small to complex products.
· Executes functional testing in order to find and record defects as assigned by Project Manager.
· Analyzes defects and determines severity.
· Performs high-level assessments after testing is completed.
· Writes test cases and test reports. Submits work for peer review, as needed. Participates in reviews of work products (especially test cases and test reports).
· Develops his or her schedules with occasional assistance from others and usually meets them.
· Works collaboratively with other personnel within the company to meet corporate and/or organizational goals.
· Keeps Manager informed of progress at all times.
· Fosters an environment of "no surprises." Reviews assignments and makes recommendations to Manager.
· Follows standards and procedures.
