Job Description
A private consulting firm working on a public sector project requires services of a Network Support Consultant covering the following duties and responsibilities:
Administration - Administer network MS Windows Servers and workstations. Administers e-mail and anti-virus systems.
Vendor Evaluation & Research - Evaluate and recommend purchases of computers, network hardware, peripheral equipment, and software.
Procurement - Assist in research and procurement of computer accessories and supplies.
Software - Perform and/or oversee software and application development, installation, and upgrades.
Hardware - Perform hardware cleanups, parts upgrading, recommendations on replacements, general hardware maintenance and support of all project and client hardware.
Security - Plan and implement network security, including building firewalls, managing host security, file permissions, backup and disaster recovery plans, file system integrity, and adding and deleting users. Maintain confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored or accessed by the network
Troubleshooting Issues- Investigate user problems, identify their source, determine possible solutions, test and implement solutions. Troubleshoot networks, systems, and applications to identify and correct malfunctions and other operational difficulties.
Standard Maintenance - Establish and perform maintenance programs following company standards. Ensure timely user notification of maintenance requirements and effects on system availability.
Infrastructure Deployment - Management of deployment of electrical and network infrastructure on client end.
Documentation - Document network problems and resolutions for future reference.
Self Development - Actively participate in own professional self development plan and performance evaluation plan, directed and supported by the HR Department. Adopt and put into practice leadership and communication skills
General Support - Provides telephone, in-person and online support to end-users. Provides updates, status and completion information to manager and/or users, via voice mail, e-mail or in-person communication. Performs other support duties as assigned.
The successful candidate Must Have:
1. The candidate must have BCS/MCS or equivalent.
2. The candidate at least have a professional experience of 1-2 years.
3. The candidate must have an experience of Network Support.
4. The candidate should be an expert of LAN/WAN/Internet Technologies.
5. Should be able to work on Windows Domain environments.
6. Should be able to work on Cisco Routers/Switches.
7. Must have good inter-personal communication skills.
8. Candidates having certifications will be given more weightage.
9. Public Sector experience is a plus.
