i2c Pakistan urgently requires the services of Database Developer for
its DB team. The details are given below:
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Primarily responsible for developing and maintaining database
artifacts that meet requirements
2. Actively participates in analysis and design
3. Identifies ambiguities, issues with requirements and design
and provides feedback to Team Lead for elaboration and improvement
4. Creates tables, stored procedures, views, triggers, scripts
and/or other entities in conformance to specified requirements and
design
5. Ensures adherence to company standards and best practices
6. Performs bug fixing in a manner that minimizes chances of bug
reoccurrence or possibility of other undesired side effects
7. Creates reproducible unit tests and performs unit testing to
ensure that the assigned work products meet requirements
8. Performs query optimization and performance tuning
9. Involved in monitoring of live database servers, logs, DB
spaces etc. for preventive maintenance and continuous interrupted
service delivery
10. Provides prompt support to customers, both internal and
external, effectively resolving issues, in coordination with relevant
groups
11. Continuously strives to enhance maintainability of code and
database entities, and provides feedback and suggestions to the Team
Lead for possible improvements
12. May assist Team Lead in performing impact analysis for
software change requests
13. May assist in writing specifications and creating other
process artifacts relevant to his/her scope
14. May participate in process definition and improvement efforts
in coordination with Quality Engineering, for relevant process areas
Required Qualifications and Competencies:
A degree in computer science, IT or Information Systems
1+ relevant years experience
1. Varied experience of databases like Oracle, Informix, DB 2
would be considered a plus
2. Strong database concepts with good understanding of data
warehousing, OLAP, OLTP, ETL
3. Excellent knowledge of contemporary database tools
4. Skills in Linux/Unix/Sun- Solaris would be preferred
